I want you to imagine watching a loved one†¦your grandparent, parent, spouse or significant other, even your own child, dying because one of their vital organs has quit working. Maybe because of a disease or an accident, maybe for a reason that cannot be explained, without any warning. The only chance of this person surviving is through an organ transplant, but there aren’t any available. By a show of hands, how many of you are organ donors? I. There are 11 body parts that can be successfully transplanted : A. Heart, heart valves, kidneys, pancreas, lungs, liver, intestines, skin, bone marrow, Connective tissue, corneas. B. Then, no one knows your wishes and your organs will not be donated. The consequences of this are more people waiting for organs and there will still be an incredible shortage of available organs. CONCLUSION: As you can easily see, donating your organs can be one of the most important decisions you ever make and also the greatest gift you could ever give.
